DOES IT GET HARDER TO CONTROL WEIGHT AROUND THE MENOPAUSE?
It does appear, for many women approaching the menopause, that weight gets more and more difficult to control. And others have been struggling with their weight for years and now feel they have no energy or motivation left to tackle it once and for all.
It's really hard. There is no doubt that the hormonal changes of menopause can play havoc with sleep and other hormones, making healthy choices more difficult. What's more, the years of yo-yo dieting that many of us have succumbed to, have been based on poor nutrition advice that has played havoc with our body’s natural weight control mechanisms. And we have been left confused by conflicting information – blindly following fad diet after fad diet, thinking that we are failures when they don’t work. Let me tell you, ladies – it’s not you who are failures, it’s the dieting concept.
After years of working in the weight loss field as an NHS consultant, I have been overwhelmed by the number of women, desperate to find a way to lose weight that actually works. But more importantly, to keep it off for good.
So, I have developed a 12 week online ‘Weight Loss for Life’ programme that pulls together all the science around weight loss and shows you how to make it work for you.
